Send your name to Mars

The Mars Science Laboratory Rover - a wheeled vehicle with science instruments for discoveries on the martian surface, see photograph on the right- is going up to Mars in 2011. Learn about its mission here.

You can participate in the mission in different ways but I would like to suggest one. The rover will carry people’s names on a microchip and people from all over the world are already sending theirs (click here to find out how many). Would you like it to take your name on it, too? Fill in your information here and your name will be included with others on the microchip.

Once you´ve written the information they ask for, you will get a certificate: print it, show it to me and it will count as optional homework for your final mark.

If you are interested in space exploration, NASA has a very interesting webpage, specially designed for students, with many different sections: image galleries, videos, interactive pages, podcasts, NASA television... why don´t you browse through it?
