People Who Make a Difference

Gashaw Tahir is an American citizen who was born in Ethiopia. When he returned to his birth land, he found that the green hills that surrounded his home had eroded because of deforestation so he decided to do something about it: plant one million trees.

This story reminded me of Wangari Maathai, Nobel Peace Prize in 2004, and her Green Belt Movement

Two inspiring stories of people who have really made a difference.

It's nice to see that there's still people that are worried about the enviroment and the ecology. We can't lose the hope. Everybody shoud do something positive for the world, because we're only prejudicing ourselves and the future generations. This man is right, only one person is enough to change the mind of a lot of people.

  2. So, Laura, what "positive" thing are you going to do for the world?

I don't really know... but I will think seriously about it!
