The way things are going these days, you say or hear "Greece" and what comes to your mind? (I leave it up to you to think of an answer, but, bearing in mind how much we hear about politics and finances these days, I am pretty sure something ominous will probably turn out for an answer)
But Greece has given so much to the world, to our culture; click here to go to an article called "What Have the Greeks Ever Done for Us?." These are the things you will read about there: the modern Olympics, trial by jury, the theater, democracy, the shower, the analog computer, pizza, maths (the Pythagorean theorem, trigonometry, for instance), the catapult and crossbow, the steam engine.
