Farewell, Senior Students 2015

School year 2013-14 by Slidely Photo Gallery

Here´s to help you choose a university degree:

And now a smile.... a video which shows how much your parents will miss you:

(Video and transcript reblogged from The English Blog)

The title of ad uses the phrasal verb 'to clean out', which means to empty a place of objects or goods, especially by stealing or buying them in large quantities.• The supermarkets were cleaned out by panicking shoppers.
TRANSCRIPTMOTHER: Promise you’ll eat something healthy every now and then.
SON: Yes, mum.
FATHER: Drive carefully.
SON: I will.
FATHER: Yeah. Off you go.
FATHER: I’ll get you a cuppa.
MOTHER: Oh thanks, darling.
FATHER: Have you seen the kettle?
MOTHER: What? And my microwave.
FATHER: He’s got the TV.
FATHER: Ohh, the dish!
MOTHER: Millie. Ooo-oo. Millie.
FATHER: He’s got me growbags. What does he want my growbags for?
And here´s my goodbye with my best wishes to you all: a beautiful and bittersweet poem by Borges, titled “You Learn”

You Learn
After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning
And company doesn’t mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts
And presents aren’t promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn…
That even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure…
That you really are strong
And you really do have worth…
And you learn and learn…
With every good-bye you learn.
